DESCRIPTION:Creative Cartography: Winter Break Program\nSaturday\, February 21\, 2026  |  9:30 AM- 1:30 PM \nAges 10-14 \n  \nCost: $30 per participant \nENROLL IN Creative Cartography HERE \n  \n  \nUnplug and unwind this winter break by turning your real life into an adventure. In this workshop\, students will learn how to create their own fantasy world inspired by Bayard \nCutting Arboretum. Students can expect to create a 9×12” map\, an original character design\, and have many tales to tell about the journey of creating that world. Topics of discussion include: Cartography (the study of map-making)\, Dendrology (the study of trees)\, and Mythology (the study of myths and legends). \nThis program is best intended for ages 10-14 and is a drop-off\, optional program. Students are asked to bring a bagged lunch and dress appropriately for the weather as there are both indoor and outdoor portions to the workshop. \n  \n\n1. DESCRIPTION:Scouting America: Sustainability Merit Badge\nSaturday\, February 28\, 2026  |  9:30 AM- 1:30 PM \nAges 11-17 \n  \nCost: $25 per participant \nENROLL IN SUSTAINABILITY MERIT BADGE HERE \n  \n  \nBayard Cutting Arboretum welcomes Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) to complete the requirements needed to earn their Sustainability badge. \nScouts will learn to reduce waste and teach sustainable practices to others so they can help conserve Earth’s resources with the Sustainability Merit Badge. Scouts will develop and implement a plan to reduce their water usage\, household food waste\, and learn about the sustainability of different energy sources\, including fossil fuels\, solar\, wind\, nuclear\, hydropower\, and geothermal. \nScouts are asked to wear Class B attire\, bring a bagged lunch\, a field journal\, a pen and a blue card signed by their Scoutmaster. It is also recommended that Scouts review requirements 1\, 3b\, 6c\, 9\, and complete diagrams 2b and 4a ahead of the program. \n  \n\n1.
