We will cover a variety of topics that give us a deeper understanding of where the food we eat comes from including growing vegetables\, creating compost\, the precipitation cycle\, supporting pollinators\, raising chickens\, and harvesting crops. This class is best intended for ages 5-12 and is a rain-or-shine event. It is always wise to dress for a mess! \nThis program is recommended to be taken as a series\, a discounted rate is applied for those who enroll for all 6 weeks. However\, participants are able to register for individual topics of interest. Parents are required to remain with children for the duration of the class. \n  \nEducational Outcomes:\n● Practice newly emerging motor skills and behavioral patterns. \n● Develop social skills through both imaginative and cooperative play. \n● Foster a deeper sense of connection to nature. \n  \n*Fees cannot be refunded for participant cancellation or any other reason. Studies show that having flowers in your home or office can decrease feelings of anxiety or depression and increase energy\, happiness\, and enthusiasm. In this workshop\, our cut-flower specialist will present the species grown on our CSA Farm; Each being uniquely selected and hand-cultivated for their value in flower arrangements. \nParticipants can expect to return home with a vase full of beautiful fresh-cut flowers and a better understanding of the fundamentals of flower arranging. Flower varieties include Zinnias\, Dahlias\, Yarrow\, Globe Amaranths\, Sunflowers\, Bee Balm\, and many more! \n\nOutcomes\n● Become acquainted with the cut-flower varieties grown on the CSA Farm. \n● Develop a basic understanding of flower arrangement terms and techniques. \n● Create a unique flower arrangement for the home\, office\, or gift-giving. \n  \n*Fees cannot be refunded for participant cancellation or any other reason. Herbally infused vinegar is one of the easiest ways to put up the bounty of the season for later use. Learn the basics\, and different uses\, and then customize your own flavors from herbs grown here at our own CSA Farm. For use in cooking\, salad dressings\, and pickling recipes. \nWe will be working with both apple cider vinegar & white wine vinegar and have access to a variety of fresh herbs from the Farm including basil\, oregano\, parsley\, dill\, sage\, thyme\, chives\, garlic\, horseradish\, and hot peppers varieties.
