SUMMARY:Inspired by Nature: Paintings by Patricia Lind-Gonzalez
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by Nature\nThursday\, September 24\, 2026 – Saturday\, October 17\, 2026 \n  \nArtist Reception \nSaturday\, September 26\, 2026   |  1:00 – 4:00 PM \n  \nBayard Cutting Arboretum Annex\n\n\n\n  \nAbout the Inspired by Nature Exhibit\nInspired by Nature is a collection of oil paintings that seek to portray the beauty and tranquility of the natural landscape.  I have always enjoyed being out in nature\, and I hope to relay the sense of peace I feel as I walk across a field or among the trees or stop to admire the vibrant colors of flowers. \nMy landscape paintings are done on location (en plein air) or sketched on location and completed in my studio. I began painting florals during the pandemic as an escape from the apprehension that permeated our lives.  Flowers always brighten my mood\, and my home always has fresh flowers on display.  I hope to capture the flowers’ beautiful shapes and vibrant colors in my paintings. \nMy paintings invite the viewer to pause and find a stillness and appreciation for the beauty found all around us in nature. \n  \nAbout the Artist\nPatricia Lind-Gonzalez is a classically trained artist based in Smithtown\, New York.  She seeks to convey the beauty of the natural world from the interplay of light and shadow to the sculptural forms of trees and the rich\, vibrant colors of flowers. \nHer painting style is representational\, and her primary medium is oil paint. Her figure\, still life\, and floral paintings are created in her studio from life. Her landscape paintings are created on site or in her studio from sketches as she strives to recreate the essence of the scene. \nPatricia’s artistic foundation was shaped through painting classes at the Stevenson Academy of Fine Art in Oyster Bay with Alma Stevenson and Attila Hejja\, and later by an apprenticeship with Jacob Collins at the Water Street Atelier in Manhattan.  She received a travel grant from the Forbes Foundation to paint at the Château de Balleroy in Normandy\, France\, with the artists from the Water Street Atelier\, which resulted in her painting being included in an exhibition at the Forbes Gallery in Manhattan\, and one of her paintings was acquired for the Forbes permanent collection. In addition to the Forbes Gallery\, her artwork has been exhibited at galleries across the country\, including the John Pence Gallery in San Francisco\, the Meredith Long Gallery in Houston\, the Gregory James Gallery in New Milford\, CT\, and the South Street Gallery in Greenport\, NY.  Her work has been published in “The American Artist Drawing Magazine”. \n Patricia has taught drawing and painting classes at the Art League of Long Island in Dix Hills\, the Teaching Studios of Art in Oyster Bay\, and The Stevenson Academy of Fine Arts in Oyster Bay. She has conducted figure drawing workshops for art educators and advanced placement high school art students on Long Island. \n
