About Jessica O’Callahan, Grounds Supervisor, Bayard Cutting Arboretum

Jessica O’Callahan is the Grounds Supervisor and an ISA Certified Arborist at Bayard Cutting Arboretum. She began her land management career as an organic vegetable farmer before transitioning to horticulture. She holds a Diploma in Horticulture from the School of Professional Horticulture at New York Botanical Garden and is currently a master’s student in natural resources (agroforestry emphasis) with the University of Missouri.

Many of the trees at Bayard Cutting Arboretum have been through a lot during their 100+ years here. Despite all their strength and resilience, aging trees still need some care to make it through their golden years. In this presentation, we’ll discuss the history of some of the arboretum's oldest trees and what actions are taken to encourage their continued longevity.
