Joseph Disponzio, Ph.D. is a noted independent scholar and educator who specializes in landscape history. During his long career he has held positions in both academia and government, including Preservation Landscape Architect for the NYC Department Parks and Recreation, and teaching positions at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, the University of Georgia and Columbia University. He has published widely on landscape history from the 18th century to the present. He holds an M.L.A. from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
