SUMMARY:Tri-State Botanical Artists Rooted In Nature Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Tri-State Botanical Artists Rooted In Nature\nMay 7 – May 31\, 2026 \nArtist Reception April 19\, 2026 –  1- 3 PM \n  \n  \nAbout the TSBA Group \nOur Group: The Tri-State Botanical Artists (TSBA) of the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG)\, is an Artists’ Circle within the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) asba-art.org \nThe TSBA provides a thriving\, interactive community dedicated to perpetuating the tradition and contemporary practice of botanical art. \nWe consider botanical art a creative endeavor where “observation\,” the cornerstone of our work as artists\, enables us to portray our plant subjects accurately and aesthetically in a unique and personal way\, combining scientific accuracy and fine art techniques. \nOur Impact: We believe botanical art and the outreach of the TSBA and ASBA members can have an impact beyond our organization\, playing a positive role in enriching all our lives\, promoting ecological awareness\, and educating others. \nOur History: Susan Sapanara and Jeanne Reiner first met as students in the New York Botanical Garden’s Botanical Art Certificate Program and reconnected years later at an ASBA conference in October 2016. Over dinner\, they shared a simple but meaningful idea: to create a welcoming local community for botanical artists in New York\, New Jersey\, and Connecticut—a place to connect\, learn\, and grow together. From that conversation\, the Tri-State Botanical Artists (TSBA) took root. \nWhat began with 40 members and a generously shared meeting space at NYBG has grown into a community of more than 200 artists. Currently\, we meet on Zoom\, and the TSBA continues to be a warm\, supportive\, and vibrant community—one where friendships flourish and a shared love of botanical art continues to inspire growth. \n
