These include\, yet are not limited to: soups\, salads\, sandwiches\, entrees\, and of course dessert. \nIn this program\, caregivers can expect their children to practice newly emerging motor skills\, develop social skills through both imaginative and cooperative play\, and foster a deeper sense of connection to nature. This class is best intended for ages 2-7 and is a rain-or-shine event. It is always wise to dress for a mess! Caregivers are required to remain with children for the duration of the class. Students will learn basic skills in watercolor. This includes learning techniques to create washes\, mix colors\, and handle various tools to create different effects. These techniques will be applied to creating skies\, land areas\, beaches\, water\, and foliage. \nPlease note supplies are not included in the cost of the workshop\, please see the supply list below for details. \n  \nSupply List\nThe following supplies below are recommended. We include artists working in a variety of mediums and encourage exposure and growth through exhibitions\, workshops\, and demonstrations. Our exhibition Simple Joys is made up of artwork that has touched the hearts and experiences of the artists represented. They have recreated special moments or feelings that brought them joy or happiness and interpreted them in personal and unique ways.

DESCRIPTION:Ikebana: Japanese Flower Arrangements\n\nAdult Education \nSaturday\, March 29\, 2025 | 1:30-2:30 PM \nCost: $65 per person \n  \n \nEnroll in Ikebana Japanese Flower Arrangement Workshop \n  \n  \nJoin Hiroko & Gerard Senese -from the Japan Center at Stony Brook University- for a demonstration of the different styles of Japanese flower arrangements; and a workshop to create your own Ikebana based on an arrangement that has been designed on that day. \nLearn about the history\, concepts\, principles\, and aesthetics behind each arrangement\, and the relationship of the flowers to the seasons & to each particular vase being used. \n  \n  \n\n\nFees cannot be refunded for participant cancellation or any other reason. In the event of extreme weather\, class location may be moved indoors or a weather-related make-up date will be scheduled for no additional cost to the registrant.\nTransactions will be processed through the Natural Heritage Trust as a donation on behalf of Bayard Cutting Arboretum.\nFor any additional questions\, contact our Education Coordinator K.T.
