Interactive Tree Workshop (Grades K-5)

This educational and laughter-filled workshop is meant to connect students with trees and to help them see trees as “individuals” as unique and worthwhile as any other living entity. Through personalization, children will begin to see trees as “their new BFFs”, with long life spans that provide us with life-sustaining health benefits. Best of all it’s presented by…a walking, talking TREE!

This workshop can serve 20-25 kids in grades K-5.

A Letter From Our New Education Coordinator

Hi all,

My name is K.T. Williamson and I am honored to say that I will be following in Liz Herrick’s footsteps as BCA’s Education Coordinator. Some of you may remember me from my previous time working on the grounds of the Arboretum from 2018-2022. During that time, we created a community-building event called “Farm-for-All Fridays” in which we shared tea, laughs and plenty of weed-pulling at the CSA farm. I also had the chance to work closely with the Environmental Stewards as we cleaned up the Friendship Garden.

In my time away from the Arboretum, I completed my degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting where I learned the importance of meaningful activity for all people of all ages and abilities. Additionally, I had the opportunity to be the Art & Nature Program Director for Think Wellness NY; creating and teaching classes all across Long Island. I am absolutely excited to bring this experience to you all here at the Arboretum!

Looking forward to a great season,

K.T. Williamson
