In this workshop, participants will learn recipes and techniques for preparing and preserving their tomatoes all season long. Topics and tastings include: sauces, salsas, soups, salads, and more.

Participants will return home with an 8 oz. jar of salsa they prepare themselves, a recipe list, and a belly full of tasty tomato treats provided during the workshop.

About the Workshop

They say that oil and vinegar don’t mix; however, an infusion will always do the trick! Herbally infused vinegar is one of the easiest ways to put up the bounty of the season for later use. Learn the basics, and different uses, and then customize your own flavors from herbs grown here at our own CSA Farm. For use in cooking, salad dressings, and pickling recipes.

We will be working with both apple cider vinegar & white wine vinegar and have access to a variety of fresh herbs from the Farm including basil, oregano, parsley, dill, sage, thyme, chives, garlic, horseradish, and hot peppers varieties. The possibilities are truly endless!

Outcomes

● Become acquainted with the herbs available at the CSA Farm.

● Develop a basic understanding of herbal vinegar infusion techniques

● Create a unique flavor combination to use at home or give as gifts.

*Fees cannot be refunded for participant cancellation or any other reason. In the event of extreme weather, class location may be moved indoors or a weather-related make-up date will be held for no additional cost to the registrant.
