Enjoy a guided 1.5-hour house tour through the Westbrook Manor House.

  • Hear about the history and architectural details of the Cutting’s summer home.
  • Tour the first floor, second floor, and annex.
  • Learn about William Bayard Cutting, his wife Olivia, and their four children’s contribution to improving the quality of American life.

Spotlight Tour

Enjoy a grounds tour through various areas of the Bayard Cutting Arboretum.

Docent’s Choice Grounds Tour

One-hour tour available each Wednesday and Saturday at 10:30 am except for Specialty Tour dates (see below). $5.00 per person.

 

 

Private Grounds Tour

Personalized 90-minute docent-led group tour. Dates and times are flexible. $10.00 per person.

 

 

Specialty Tour

Docents will spotlight specific, seasonally appropriate areas of the Arboretum in a one-hour grounds tour. Available only on the first Wednesday and first Saturday of each month. $5.00 per person. Below are the dates for the 2024 Spotlight Tours.

Saturday, June 1, and Wednesday, June 5, 2024 | Royce Rhododendron Garden

Explore colorful rhododendrons, azaleas, and dogwoods in bloom.

 

Wednesday, July 3, and Saturday, July 6, 2024 | Breezy Island and the River Walk

(Heather tour 6/11) – Experience the history and horticulture of Breezy Island and learn about the coastal ecology of the Connetquot River.

 

Saturday, August 3, and Wednesday, August 7, 2024 | Conifer Garden

Learn why this garden has earned status as an American Conifer Society Reference Garden. The significance of the design and the diversity of conifer species will be explored. Special attention will be paid to dwarf cultivars exclusive conifers only found at BCA.

 

Wednesday, September 4, and Saturday, September 7, 2024 | Woodland Garden

This area is defined by three manmade ponds designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.  Explore the unique ecosystem and plant palette of native and unusual woodland and shade-tolerant plants.
