Visiting Hours
The Bayard Cutting Arboretum is open Tuesdays – Sundays from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (winter hours – November 7 to April 4) and 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (summer hours – April 5 to November 6). We are closed every Monday.

Parking Fees & Rates
- Parking Fees:
VUF, $8 per vehicle collected weekends and holidays April through November
VUF, $8 per vehicle collected Tuesday – Sunday from May 1st-Labor Day - Seniors (62+) can park for free during the week (Tuesday-Friday excluding holidays). Just scan your license at the pay station, and you will be issued a day pass.
- NYS EMPIRE PASS ($80) Your key to all-season enjoyment of state parks is our season’s pass. For $80, the Empire Passport card provides you unlimited day-use vehicle entry into most of our parks. Apply online at parks.ny.gov or call the BCA park office at 1-631-581-1002 for more information.
- Fee for Concert Series: None (vehicle entrance fee when applicable)
- Exhibits/Plays (By Outside Organizations): None (vehicle entrance fee when applicable)

Directions to the Bayard Cutting Arboretum

By Car:
From Nassau & Western Suffolk:
Drive on Southern State Parkway EAST and take exit 45E.
Take Montauk Highway East for approximately ¾ mile.
The arboretum entrance will be on the right.
From Eastern Suffolk:
Drive on Sunrise Highway WEST to exit 46.
Take Connetquot Avenue South.
Turn left onto Montauk Highway.
The arboretum entrance will be on the right.
By Train:
LIRR to Great River station:
You can take the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) to the Great River train station and from there walk approximately ¾ mile to the Arboretum. OR
You can also take the LIRR to the Islip train station and the Arboretum is approximately 3 miles.
By Bus:
Unfortunately, there are no scheduled bus services between the LIRR Islip station and the Arboretum. Taxi service is available at the station.
