About the Joy Arden, Landscape Curator, Bayard Cutting Arboretum

Joy Arden is the Landscape Curator at Bayard Cutting Arboretum where she has spent the past decade managing and enriching the diverse tree collections across the landscape. Her expertise in GIS has been integral to the development and maintenance of a digital living collection, promoting a sustainable approach to landscape management. She is currently involved in the Arboretum's latest capital project which aims to tackle coastal challenges and develop solutions along the River Walk. As a dedicated environmental advocate, Arden holds an M.S. in Sustainability Management and Environmental Policy with a GIS concentration from The New School. Her collaboration with local organizations and communities has been key to driving her mission of fostering resilient landscapes.

2:45 PM | A Coastal Case Study: Walking Tour at Bayard Cutting Arboretum – OUTDOOR ACTIVITY

Bayard Cutting Arboretum spans over one and a half miles of coastline along the Connetquot River. Rising tides and frequent flooding have been ongoing problems for the Arboretum over the last ten years. This presentation will be conducted as an educational walking tour (.5 mile), focusing on the critical issues impacting the coastline today.
