Doreen Monteleone, Ph.D. is Arboretum Liaison and past president of Bayard Cutting Arboretum Horticultural Society. She has been a Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County Master Gardener since 2014, is the 2020 CCE Suffolk Master Gardener of the Year and a regular volunteer at the Arboretum. Her professional career began in oceanographic research, but for more than 30 years she has focused on environmental and sustainability issues in manufacturing industries. She is a founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership, the leading non-profit accreditation organization that promotes sustainable practices in the printing industry. Doreen is an award-winning author and has published more than 65 articles and contributed to five books on environmental issues. She is a frequent speaker on growing and using culinary herbs, native plants and sustainable gardening. Doreen holds a Ph.D. from Stony Brook University.
