Although it is best grown in moist soils and full sun, this deciduous conifer is tolerant of light shade.
Commonly known as the European larch, this tree will grow to be 60-100’ tall. Its soft green foliage turns golden-yellow before dropping its needles in the fall.
Potential pests include larch case-bearer, larch sawfly, and Japanese beetle. They are also susceptible to diseases such as needle cast, rust, and canker.
